POSITION: Cleaning Room Supervisor or Leadperson
DEPARTMENT: Cleaning Room
REPORTS TO: Superintendent Cleaning Room
JOB SUMMARY: Supervises portions or areas of casting cleaning & finishing to attain maximum quality, volume, and efficient production through efficient utilization of the workforce, equipment and materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Schedules the castings and machines to be finished to meet delivery schedules.
2) Assigns work to hourly employees, and checks flow and quality of work being done.
3) Oversee equipment is properly maintained and cleaned. Initiate maintenance work orders.
4) Maintains and fills out production records.
5) Maintains procedures, process control, and initiates changes as needed to Master Data Cards.
6) Train and instruct employees, requisition additional help as needed, recommend promotion,
transfers, wage increase, discipline or discharge.
7) Conduct regular performance reviews of employees. Maintain good employee relations.
8) Oversee departmental safety, conduct weekly safety meetings & training.
9) Explain and enforce Company policy, rules, and departmental regulations.
10) Maintains inventories of supplies and initiates ordering as needed.
11) Engages in scrap and quality analysis for in house scrap, poor quality, or customer returns
12) Preform "hands on" work to assist in production or train.
Specific job duties requiring the physical demands listed:
Must be able to do hands on inspecting, grinding, welding/scarfing, heat treating
operating blast machines, presses, and material handling as needed to train or assist in
production demands. Must be able to walk extensively on the floor and operate forklift,
bobcat, or cranes. May need to walk to maintenance, stockroom or nearby departments.
AUTHORITY:
- To recommend hire, fire, layoff, transfer, and discipline employees reporting to him/her according to company policies with Superintendent approval, and Personnel Department concurrence.
Requirements:
Previous Lead or Management type experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Multitask, attention to detail and basic computer skills.
Be able to Cleary communicate orders, instructions, In a diverse environment.
Must be able to lift 50lbs. and be able to push/pull products
Working conditions varies as work will be both indoors and outdoors in an environment exposed to both heat and cold. Exposure to dust and loud machinery on a daily basis.
