
Job Type: Full Time, M-F, and on occasion Saturdays, Overtime available
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: Must be a highly skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Mechanic within the Maintenance Department to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of industrial equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment, which is critical in minimizing downtime.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform routine and emergency maintenance on foundry and manufacturing equipment, including furnaces, media (shot) blasters, ovens, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
· Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
· Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
· Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades and installations.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
· Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and recommending procurement needs.
· Collaborate with foundry teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a foundry or heavy manufacturing setting. Must pass the Maynard written Mechanical Skills exam.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
· Excellent critical thinking, root-cause, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed
Preferred skills:
· Experience with PLCs and basic electrical troubleshooting.
· Forklift and overhead crane operation certification.
· Prior welding experience and certification (MIG/TIG/Stick)
Work Environment
· Exposure to high heat, noise, dust, and molten metal, in an indoor foundry and production facility
· Exposure to loud machinery and heavy materials
· Requires wearing PPE: On the foundry floor, this position requires a helmet, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes or boots, and hearing protection worn at all times.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $38.00/Hour - Qualifications and experience dependent
Job Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shifts: 1st (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and 3rd (6:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
Reports to: Manager of Facilities
